Hobo Event Datalogger

Description
The HOBO Event datalogger connects to standard tipping-bucket rain gauges to determine rainfall rates, times and duration. The HOBO Event datalogger eliminates the need to manually read rain gauges, saving time and insuring that critical readings are not missed. Use it to upgrade existing tipping-bucket systems by replacing counting-type displays.
The reusable HOBO Event datalogger records when momentary contact-closure events happen, storing the time and date of each event. Only one time per event is stored to minimize memory usage for applications where the event duration is not needed.
A BoxCar software starter kit is required for operation (included). Each starter kit includes software, computer interface cable and software manual.
Features & Benefits
- Easily connects to any of our rain gauges
- Capacity for recording up to 80" of rainfall
- User-entered resolution to match with rain-gauge collector

Installation & Maintenance
Installation consists of attaching the two wires from the datalogger to the terminal strip inside the rain gauge (no polarity). Mount the datalogger either inside the rain gauge or outside. However the datalogger should remain out of direct sunlight. Connect to the datalogger software and setup the resolution and start time and the unit is ready for operation.
Maintenance includes downloading the data on a routine basis and monitoring the battery. All other maintenance is based on the requirements of the rain gauge.
